Federal Overtime Rule Update

As we previously reported, a group of states were trying to block the overtime rule which would change the minimum amount employees had to make to be on salary.

That ruling was just blocked. So to be salary in California, an employee still has to make no less than two times the state minimum wage for full time employment (40 hours per week). They also must pass the duties test as usual.

However, remember the minimum wage increases in January.
